Menominee River

If you are looking for big whitewater in Wisconsin, this is your best bet. The Menominee River has the biggest commercially run rapid section in the Midwest. You will raft through the serene bluffs on the border between Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Guided | Half Day Trips | Mileage: 3.5 | Class: 2-4 | Rafts: 6-10 people per raft |Experience Needed: None

Perks:

Professional Guide in Your Boat:

You will have a guide in the back of your boat doing all of the steering. You are the powerhouse and your guide is the driver. You have no need to worry about where to go, your trained guide has you covered.

Group Rafts:

You get to experience this adventure with 6-10 people all in one boat! This allows for some teamwork and communication skills to be tested.

Warm Water:

No chilly mountain runoff here! The above dam pool allows for the water to warm up before it releases into the rapid section. Enjoy warm water and big whitewater all in one spot!

Constant Water Levels:

Because this section is dam controlled, the water levels stay semi-constant year round. 6-10 person rafts will be used all year. If you are looking for the biggest white, come in the late spring to early summer!

Check out the rapids beforehand by hiking at Pier’s Gorge State Park.
